Short Inca Trail to Machupicchu

Depart early from your hotel for a transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station. Board the train bound for Km 104, enjoying a scenic ride of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Upon arrival, your adventure commences with a thrilling walk across a suspension bridge leading to the official checkpoint at Chachabamba (7053 ft), where passport and permit checks are conducted. Prepare for an exhilarating hike along an ancient trail towards the Wiñaywayna site, adorned with remarkable Inca constructions and terraces. Marvel at the breathtaking vistas of the Urubamba river and the majestic mountains. Pause at Wiñaywayna campsite to relish a delicious box lunch amidst nature's splendor. Continue onwards to the second checkpoint, persisting on your journey towards the Sungate, offering a captivating first glimpse of Machupicchu in the distance. Descend to a picturesque lookout point, where your knowledgeable guide will enlighten you with significant insights and historical anecdotes about this enchanting place. Conclude your day by boarding a bus to Aguas Calientes Town where your hotel is located.

IMPORTANT: Big luggage (suitcases)are not allowed on the trains; you can only take as maximum 20 pounds in a small duffle bag or small carry on. (The big suitcases stay in the hotel in Cusco) The duffle bags or carry on will be send on the train to your hotel at Machupicchu.

Today we have an early start. Your guide will collect you from your hotel and take you to the bus station. Delight in the bus journey ascending to Machu Picchu ( 7874 ft) , where you'll be treated to captivating vies of the magical cloud forest jungle. Prepare to be enchanted as the guide leads you through the ancient ruins of this mystical Inca citadel. After an enlightening exploration and ample time for capturing memorable photographs, we'll return to Aguas Calientes where you can enjoy a delightful lunch. In the afternoon, board the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus journey to the train company office in Cusco, concluding our memorable journey.
